Everyone has something that drives them.  For some people, the dream of providing a better life to their kids gets them out of bed.  For others it can be the dream of a vacation, making a difference in the community, or achieving a life goal.  As a church, we share the same mission.  It was Jesus' mission that we carry on.  Our mission is simple:

help people take the next step on their journey with God

We believe that everyone is designed to be in a relationship with God.  We will find the most joy, the greatest satisfaction, and true happiness by being re-united with God through Jesus and living in relationship with Him.  This is a defining moment in your journey.  It is not the end, but the starting point of a life filled with purpose and adventure!  We welcome everyone, wherever you are in life and on your journey and invite you to journey with us.  Everyone has a unique story, filled with experiences, people, obstacles, dreams, and spiritual moments that have shaped them.  We desire for everyone to continue their journey with Jesus and thrive as they discover their purpose and dream that God has placed on their heart.  As a church we exist to love others and bless them with the love of God.  Life is full of "next steps" where we get to step into the new life.

God takes the broken and makes them beautiful.  Jesus does not merely offer us an improved life.  He offers a brand new life of joy and hope based on His death and resurrection!

This amazing transformation is not a one time event, but an ongoing process, or a journey, led by God.  This means everyone is in process.  Everyone is on a journey.  Everyone continues to be transformed increasingly into someone who resembles and reflects Jesus.  The biggest sign our our transformed heart will be our love for our community: To be people who help mend and restore the broken places that break the heart of God.

Ephesians 3:16-19, Colossians 3:9-10,

2 Corinthians 3:18; 5:17-21

No perfect people allowed!  In a world of Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook we live with a mask that “I’m fine”.  Transformation requires vulnerability. We cannot change until we are honest with ourselves.  We cannot receive love from behind a mask.  Once we stop trying to prove ourselves worthy of God’s love, we can receive it.  That means we intentionally live counter-cultural and lower our masks.  We choose vulnerability and to live truthfully with each other.  God’s power is displayed in our weakness!

We invite each other into our lives by being welcoming, honest and open with who we are and how we are.  We love sharing our stories with one another.  We celebrate God’s goodness and transforming work together.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10, 1 John 1:5-10, 2 Corinthians 4:7

We are better together.  People are created by God to live in relationships with God and others.  In a culture that is becoming increasingly isolated, we value loving, inter-dependent relationships where people grow in their faith and journey through life together.  Life is better when lived with friends.  We value working as a team in ministry.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Genesis 2:18 Ephesians 4:13  Acts 2:42-47

We celebrate our differences and the beauty in our church is how different backgrounds, cultures, ages, and groups of people are in community and are united in Jesus.  God made everyone unique and we want to help everyone discover their unique dream for how they can make a difference in this world.  These dreams can be for the wholeness of their family, the restoration of a community, or helping a people group all in the name of Jesus.  We dream of everyone conforming only to Jesus and glorifying God through their unique personality, giftedness, circumstance, and mission in Thousand Oaks and across the world.

Ephesians 2:10; 4:1-4,  1 Corinthians 12:12-25

Loving our Neighbors

We continue God's mission by sacrificially and generously loving our neighbors.  That means everyone lives on a mission in his or her neighborhood, marketplace, and playground.  We believe God has placed everyone there to make a difference as His representative.  We express this love through relationships and tangible acts of service.  We long to be the ones who draw together our neighborhoods and become a place of love.

John 3:16, James 1:27, Matthew 5:16

Everyone is called to the mission of helping people take the next step on their journey with God, but we will fulfill that differently based on our uniqueness. As a church we celebrate the development, commissioning and sending out of healthy leaders to impact the world for Christ in their workplace, families, neighborhoods, and new churches. We train everyone to be the leader God has created them to be.  As a church we specifically want to be a catalyst for starting new churches.
